Hatha Yoga Classes in Brighton and Hove
Hatha means yoga of the body. Therefore all yoga involving the body is Hatha yoga. Hatha is a very general term that can encompass many of the physical types of yoga. If a class is described as a Hatha style, it is probably going to be slow-paced and gentle and can provide a good introduction to the basic yoga poses.
Haṭha yoga is a branch of yoga. The Sanskrit word haṭha literally means "force" and thus alludes to a system of physical techniques.
The regular practice of Hatha Yoga enhances strength, flexibility, and balance and may offer some light to moderate aerobic conditioning as well, depending on the style practised. Other benefits may be gained from incorporating breath work (pranayama) and meditation as part of, or in addition to, a Hatha Yoga practice.
