Your questions answered

Does teeth whitening work?

Yes it does! The surface of the teeth contains millions of microscopic pores, and over time, organic compounds from food, fizzy drinks, tea, coffee or tobacco penetrate these pores causing discolouration of the tooth enamel. Almost all natural teeth respond to the whitening process, however, some teeth take longer to whiten such as those with tetracycline antibiotic staining

How long will the results last?

The LED light procedure will stay noticeable whiter for 6 months & a 10 minute ‘top up’ treatment every 3-6 months will maintain a whiter smile.

Does teeth whitening work on vaneers, crowns, bridges or fillings?

The whitening procedure will not whiten crowns, vaneers, bridges or fillings, however, they will be restored to their original colour

Does teeth whitening damage the enamel?

Research show there is no risk to the enamel

Does it hurt?

Most people find the procedure completely painless, however, a small percentage may experience temporary sensitivity to hot or cold food for 24- 48 hours after the treatment. If you suffer from sensitive teeth, please let your therapist know as they can apply a gel to reduce sensitivity

Who can benefit from teeth whitening?

Mother nature can of course be kind, but most of us over the age of 16 with our own teeth need a helping hand when it comes to lightening up the ravages of lifestyle on our lack-lusture pearly whites! We would advise pregnant women or nursing mothers to consult their GP prior to using any teeth whitening products
