Pilates at Revitalise BrightonCustomer Reviews

My first class with Clare was completely different – she explained clearly, demonstrated well and corrected mistakes sympathetically, so you still feel encouraged to carry on – Revitalise is EXCELLENT!!” Maggie Poet, retired head teacher

Pregnancy classes

Our extremely popular pregnancy pilates classes are a great way for you to enjoy hugely beneficial and safe exercises during your pregnancy in a small group, friendly environment with others who are going through the same wonderful experience. Limited to 8 clients, our specialized teachers will adapt the class to meet your individual, specific needs depending on your stage of pregnancy. Attention will be paid to maintaining muscle tone, especially around the core muscles and the pelvic floor in addition to breathing to aid relaxation. Many of our clients have reported pregnancy pilates to have reduced back pain and neck and shoulder tension, improve circulation, improve posture and help them to relax and sleep at night. Many have also put pilates down to a quicker return to their pre-natal shape.

Clare Brown Pilates “I had a natural birth and only used the tens machine during labour and at the end part did not have any pain relief at all. I wanted to thank you so much as I used the breathing you taught me throughout the labour as my best form of pain relief. Also Isabella was in the best position for birth which I am certain was from the pilates exercises”. Juliet Price, Hove

Studio director and mother of 3, Clare Brown, has put pilates down to maintaining her figure both during and after her pregnancies and says “pilates is the only regular exercise I have done for the last 8 years so it can’t be anything else”!

Post natal/mother & baby classes

This is a perfect re-introduction to exercise after having a baby and will focus on the most important muscles – your pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscles, as well as helping you to maintain & enhance good posture and pelvic stability.

It can take up to 6 months for your body to return as it was pre pregnancy and a specific post natal class means the exercises can be tailored to meet your individual needs. You can join this class from 6 weeks after giving birth subject to clearance at your post partum check. This class would be particularly beneficial for those who had a c-section, are experiencing any leaking when coughing, laughing or sneezing or who may have a pro laspse.

Back care classes

For those clients with very specific back care problems, or for those with any other movement limitation, this class is ideal. The class will be at a slower pace to ensure each exercise can be modified and adapted to ensure safe and effective movements. Alternative exercises can be given if a movement is not suitable for you and the focus will be on enhancing mobility, flexibility and deep core strength to increase functional movement.

One on One classes

A one-to-one is recommended for those who have been referred by a health practitioner.
One to one sessions are suitable for those with injuries, specific needs or for those who may simply prefer a one-to-one private session. Session last for 1 hour and cost £40

Pilates courses at Revitalise are very popular and we strongly recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
